The chin seems like it could be pushed in more. Looks a little more pointy in the concept. Also the nose in the concept looks like it gets spread out a lot more about halfway up from the bottom. The one you have stays very thing all the way up. The mouth also looks smaller in the concept.
What do you mean "used the texture from concept"? Did you just take the concept art and paste it in as your texture? or did you paint your texture to just match what was in the concept? if you painted it, that's fine and I'd say you did a nice job. If you just straight pasted it, that is not good.
The fans are too small compared to the concept. (too much negative space)a, the circumference of the circle comes out to at least where the bolts are. Prefer the lighting treatment under the fans in the concept compared to what ya go going on with the neon tubes. Your entire room seems squished a bit out of scale compared…
I got the submarine/boat feel from the concept as well. However, I'm not really getting it from your piece (probably due to the windows). The whole window area looks odd to me. I'd revisit that and see if you can't get closer to the concept. The blinds should be a lot chunkier as well if you want to match the concept.
This is a really good looking fur! I was already familiar with the shell technique, but yours looks particularly good due the care in adjusting each shell maps and the height map usage. I gotta say I'm itching to recreate a few steps in your breakdown using Blender geonodes to automate them. 😂 Edit: I gave the node setup a…
Your whole portfolio is just boxes. Square tv, square radio, square phone with square buttons. I'd pick up a copy of Substance Painter on Steam to learn some new texturing workflows. You are missing some edge wear and stuff that now comes free in procedural texturing tools. The vehicles you have are nice, but again I think…
Hello everyone, I'm working on this character for a University project that I want to use as a standout portfolio piece. I will create concept art for this character and in the hopes to polish it to a cinematic ready standard. using a basemesh from a previous character I created this base sculpt. I started the sculpt…
Hey, everyone! Hope all of you are having a good summer lately. I just started a new project that was based on YuQing Wang's concept artwork. I created the block out level to make sure all of the scales fit with the concept artwork's scale of everything. I created three materials for the wall and floor in substance…
Hello everyone. I'm mainly a 2D artist, but I'm also trying to get into 3D. I'll use this thread to post concepts and stuff I'm working on. Both critique and praise are very appreciated! There is nothing else I want more than to improve and get better as an artist. If someone more experienced in 3D than me would like to…
Immediately I've jumped to another project, a sci-fi female assassin character. Will use this thread to show progress at all the milestones of development. Going to be doing the same thing and make it game-ready! She's based off a concept I saw that was really cool looking, thought I'd recreate her in 3d form! You can find…
