@ oniram: it was a game prototype For a college class. The project was called colony 28. the game takes place in an underground city like rapture, except instead of underwater, its a mining colony and instead of art deco, its art neuveau! its fun to do concepts to fit into this world because art neuveau has so many sides.
The article the one I linked cites goes into more detail, including a screenshot: (Yes, that is an Xbox home page consisting almost entirely of adverts). http://sticktwiddlers.com/2013/06/28/xbox-one-dashboard-created-with-advertising-in-mind/ I'd recommend reading it, because if you read between the lines it's sounding…
Another question I had for you more adept Maya users than I... what is the best Angle of View to use in Maya? I used the default 53 or whatever the Maya camera has and it looked very awkward and warped for me. I sculpt with it set to 28 in Zbrush. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Looking pretty good. If I had to crit something I would say there are a lot of straight lines and tight right angles. Nothing says poor and ramshackle like a little FFD and fudged up lines. If you're going to build a city, start thinking about working modular...…
I would like to reconfirm what others have already said. CGriver is legit. Picked up a copy of Zbrush 4r7 on sale on their website. Took about 28 Hours until I heard from Pixologic on my serial key and download link. Highly recommend CGriver again to anyone who sees a sale on their website. It was a pleasant experience.
This is looking pretty good, and most of the modelling looks pretty solid to me, but I have to agree with baddcog; try working a little more on defining the character's materials. The one thing I have to add is that the limb deformation looks really wonky; try giving this article a read:…
Oh right, well then we understand each other. Also it's worth considering what the outline in Borderlands 2 looks like, a game that's refined this thing quite a bit by now: http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2012/09/17/Borderlands2_2012-09-17_21-52-28-55.bmp That's nowhere as good as what ASW is doing.
Hero Forge uses Shapeways to print, so if you look at reviews of them, you can get a very good idea of what 28 mm minis printed through Shapeways are gonna be like. Here's one review: http://ragingowlbear.blogspot.com/2015/02/hero-forge-miniatures-not-ready-for.html. (that's from before they added the new material, though).
They updated when there was a big clantournament in Sweden (on the 28/4) and that caused a whole lot of problems for everyone with crashes and people getting disconnected from the server. Our clan had to finish our match without PB enabled. No idea if this has anything to do with anything... Latest version seems to be…
Hey all! so I'm making a set of mod tools for a couple of video games as the tools are either non existent or outdated and no longer work on modern systems. I'm starting off with a simple converter for the game's model files that will convert them to Wavefront OBJ and then back again. These are proprietary file formats…
