I just got an FX 5700 so I updated max 5.1 to SP1 tp take advantage of the DX9 features. Now, for some reason all meshes are showing up as white. I can assign a material to the mesh and it stsys white. Yes, I've clicked the show in viewport option in the material editor, but still no luck. anyone else here run into this?

Great character work, very beautiful, I skipped the first part to get to the character, personally I would've had that first in the reel. Also some texture sheets would be useful for recruiters. Not too keen on the VFS reel format with the credits, I skipped that too ^^
Here is Blockout 1. Thrown together super quick just to get an idea of the space. I really quickly wipped up some paint fx trees to populate the scene. I haven't done anything completely final in terms of placement - more exploring the space.
When I get a chance I might see if I can knock up the same in shader fx. I had started something similar a while back. (anyone looking for it shouldnt hold their breath) will have to look at how you did the IOR stuff.
@Chris, the left guy actually shoots and kills the right guy, the leg twitch you see is him being shot. I need to adjust the camera move before the cut a bit I think, hopefully that and when I add FX it'll be more readable.
Some small animation updates. Mainly rerendering without slash FX. Going to let this sit for awhile then come back to push it farther. I really don't like the settle, but I'm already planning to change things up for the last attack. Onto the run cycle!
