After you've hit "Accept" you should have the FiberMesh as a separate SubTool. You could then go into the SubTool and use the transform widgets to move the hair strands to your sphere. Roots are automatically masked out when deforming a FiberMesh SubTool, so that it will look like the tips are pointing at the transform… -
