I'm looking for feedback again! I have some general ideas as to how to push the material towards the finish line (hand-painting fixes to some of the smart masks, tweaking the colors on the armor, fading the leather and fabric in places and adding more wear, adding some decals here and there) but I'm hoping some polycounter…
I've been a long time lurker and many like it but have not really had anything to contribute until recently. I'm currently learning ZBrush and 3dsmax whilst trying to improve my drawing and digital painting skills. I would appreciate any feedback or criticism given, I only want to improve! A quick painting in Photoshop, I…
Hello, So I have a rifle model with some of my problem areas circled (many problem areas this is just the ones I'm on right now): The issue I'm trying to fix is the hard edges better visible here: Subdividing the model gets rid of these hard edges which is expected, but is there a way to soften them on the low-poly or did…
thanks elwing. this time my pipeline was different then on all my other items. the modeler did a polypaint as basetexture. but i was not totaly happy with it. so i used piors whitebake pipeline in photoshop (1. layer ao then on top of it 2. layer green channel of object space normal - for top->down light information - with…
The intention of the previous post was that you create that material for the hi poly, then render to texture a diffuse pass, no lighting, of the hi to lo. You will get a texture sheet that can serve as a mask for where the edges should be brighter. In addition, you may want to retouch or do more significant parts by hand…
Well.. for anyone in the future reading this, sometimes you will go through busy and hard times.. but you have to keep going! Well at least that's what i'm trying to do, let's see if i keep posting and studying here.. :) Anyways, instead of trying another small sculpt i've decided to try and make my first big project( with…
You welcome, I forgot to say another tip about the workflow, with polypaint you need too many polygons to get a good resolution on the paint, and thats not usefull if you have to put 12 objects of 1 or 2 million polygons all together in a single file, so the best way to work with it is to Project the polypaint into a…
WIP @Slosh; Thanks, man! Your paint-over was much appreciated! The profile view feels much improved. @Crazy Pixel, BradMyers; Good call guys - I cut off a large portion of the uniform and I think the smaller uniform section works much better. Put more weight on the bust's left to break up the symmetry. -Eyelids were still…
To create the foliage for the tree, i took a simple plane into Zbrush, raised it several Sub-D levels, and sculpted this, which i later polypainted to create the diffuse for. "earlyleaf1") after baking out diffuse and normal maps from this plane, i took the images into photoshop and edited the alpha channel to make it so…
See that color selector on the left? You've currently got dark gray colors selected in both images. Choose a brighter/whiter color. IF that doesn't change anything, the model might be masked, so try clearing that first. You might also have accidentally painted the darker gray color to the polypaint data. You can either…
