Just to add one more name to the hat, the guys at BigShot are pretty cool...though I'm not sure how much experience they have with more complicated pieces- http://www.bigshottoyworks.com/
'nother head. Little on the toony side (gotta add an eyepatch and m.bison hat in :P). He's looking a little too similar to the black guy now that i think about it :\
Here's Griff Majid Smiley did the High Poly on this character. I did some small stuff like the hat and the Bandolier as well as the game mesh, textures and such. Brandon Yanez textured the face.
He is an irritable and infuriating man to be around so they've buggered that up already. And yes, he's chubby and not particularly tall. And where is his trademark hat.. he doesn't go anywhere without that!
I think you're right, while I don't like the color of the cloth as much in a vacuum, the added contrast really helps. (I hat this stage of the process, the endless tweaking and uncertainty gaaaaaaaah)
Looks great at this point, but you still need to fix the hoody's folds. Also, the hair is flat on top yet poofy on the sides. Hat hair? Oh, and can we see a closeup of the face?
Really nice work, i wouldn't bat an eyelid if somebody had told me that was a Torchlight scene. Main crit would be that the glow spread from the lights is a bit over the top.
hah. thanks! I had to act a little in my living room in order to think the pose through. good times.. big win for me if you think the pose works fine :)
With such a dense amount of sprites/pngs being loaded, was there anything you guys had to do in terms of optimization to the sprites to keep things from slowing down or eating too much memory?
