Usually my go-to as well. But do not just model anything, model something with a purpose. If you know what you want to specialize in, or an inkling of an idea, start picking concepts and ideas off the shelf that relate to those goals of what you want to be in the industry. If you want to be a character artist, could grab…
Here is a new project I'm starting that I'm calling the Underground Ruins. My goal is to complete a 3d scene in 15 days(starting now). I want to use as many modular pieces as possible and have a next-gen feel. I also want to learn how to manage my time better and create bigger and better projects for the future. Here is my…

Finished the rough concept and got some stuff done in 3d. Jacket already looks pretty different to the concept but since I´m not a concept artist there is bound to be stuff in there that will change in 3d, still nice having it as a base though.
Pretty cute! I really love the concept! The lowpoly models seem good so far but the shapes of the tombstone don't seem as crisp as the concept, it looks like it's missing some of the bigger forms that are suggested in the concept. Paintover: Keep at it!
nah i didn't draw the concept, it was done by an artist named Stefan Atanasov. im trying to keep this guy pretty close to concept. my next character model ill prob take some more freedoms with the concept :)

You really should have an concept artist to make those designs for you. Making good and plausible own designs takes many skills that go beyond the qualifications of a regular 3D artist and naturally you will have problems with that. Thats is fully the concept artists job, and it can not be expected that a 3D artist can…
You shouldnt have to make those either or decisions, while its ok to start with one and lead to another, I think the worst thing any artist can do is limit themselves as it both reflects on professional options and artistic results. For career purposes, focus on environment and be able to hit both handpainted and…
