Loooks cool, well exected... as far as design goes, I think his head should be just a bit smaller... Although it looks correct in proportion, I think that shrinking the head would offer a more interesting exaggeration ... of course we haven't seen the whole body yet, but I think it would make him look tougher. The…
Very cool looking. I love the belt-sash that comes across the torso and is tied into the skin. I'd think you could continue that style up to the spikes on his right shoulder and make them look like they've been implanted a bit more (ie. long scaring from surgery, bunched up and puffy scar tissue around entry points etc).…
Leviathan: Yeah, but too vibrant I think. Xaltar: Yup, your right, I toned the highlights down and I think it looks a lot better. But did I tone them down too much now? I'm really not sure at this point. Woogity: Ha ha, I think I am going to step away from the Gears of War series for a little while, but if I revisit GOW;…
@noHero: Love the workaround to practicing anatomy and keeping within lines of defensive shields :D I can see what I assume to be lines for a machined type metal and the lighting is looking good (nice touch on the reflections of the figures and the correct specular lights on them too. The places I'd suggest looking at…
I think that works very well. Maybe some fill lights? Some of the normal detail flips to black rather quickly if that isn't due to some other map. Or some of the normals could be toned down a bit. What's the grey map? Looks like a monochrome version of the normals, so not a clean directional falloff, either.
I'm an experienced game designer (several paper games, several kids' games, and Prince of Destruction) and developer trying to get back into game development after being in "omg it's twins" land for the last couple of years. This is the kind of style I'm going for, but I need it to be WAY fewer polys. More importantly, I…
Sup dudes! I'm here to share my process with ya'll, get some feedback, answer any questions you may have, and hopefully contribute something positive to Polycount. I also want to thank all the people in the WAYWO thread that gave me some encouraging comments :) thanks dudes! My process is kinda still in a pre-mature state.…
I guess I'm not exactly sure what job you're actually aiming for. As far as I can tell from your portfolio and the posts I've been able to read, you're looking for work as a character artist. Simply put, if you're making characters, you need to know anatomy. Based on your portfolio, and some of the work I've seen you post…
One last thing to report, just for posterity. Edit > delete by type > non-deformer history is a bit glitchy. On some models it safely deletes at the extra transforms created when combining meshes, and sometimes it deletes out actual non-deformer nodes like UV related stuff. Other times, it doesn't seem to do a thing. I…
Let me break it down to you as all right now, because I have to have something that is actually legit for you and him and the rest of the moderators not to have locked/closed my thread yet I'm guessing. Because what I am saying is simply true. 1. You don't know who I am. 2. No one that has worked with me has come on here…
