I spent 1 hour doing this tonight, based off a 1 inch pencil sketch I did a while ago. It was good fun! If other people want to post their speed paintings here too then feel free!
Thanks! :) My plan is to continue doing the head studies until the end of this month, hopefully improving my pencil technique on them. After that, I plan on taking Proko's figure drawing course.
i love the pencil sketch for andy. the finger legs are a really nice touch. however distastefuly the skeeter character is (and frankly not really up to par creativiely with andy), i like the stylized curls.
I'm not voting, but the left hand is directly wired to the right brain, which houses most creative functions. The problem with that is you'd have to supply him left handed pencils and paintbrushes...not an easy chore.
The fact that you wernt already using the pencile tool freaks me out. Well if dur pimps his work ill do it too.. http://www.glacegame.com I did all the art.
I CONSTANTLY press CTRL+Z in real life...I have undo binded to one of my wacom pen buttons, so I try to press buttons on my normal pencil all the time, and on the desk or the paper with the other hand.....xD
It would look better if everything wasn't so neat and perfectly lined up. The eraser should be used, because nobody has a new eraser for more than 30 seconds, and I would place it on the pad of paper along with a pencil resting near it.
Thanks!, the thing is with the 1px pencil brush is that due to the low resolution of those tiles you really cannot afford to do anything but make use of every pixel. You really have to think like a pixelartist when it comes to minecraft stuff :P
The Monster Hunter CG books - hundreds of armor designs, monster designs in pencil and full color. Absolute goldmine for character artists :D http://cgi.ebay.com/Monster-Hunter-Illustrations-Complete-Set-art-book-/300506866074?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f79ae19a
