Starting up this pretty fun environment concepted by my gf, you can see her work here. I know the only lit comp so far is pretty whack color-wise, but I'm excited to take on the populated nature of the piece. Concept Art thread for the project. Concepts (props + env): Rough Block-ins (maya + in-engine):

Maybe there could be a concept art thread where people can post/claim original concept art for characters/environments? Since i know not ever character artist can do amazing concept art.
So no basing on an existing piece of concept art ? ANSWER: Your entry should be original for the contest. So if you're inspired by a concept, that's one thing. But if you're taking an existing concept and replicating it 1:1 that's bad.
Ratio is alnost always low for concept-only artists at 3d game studios. Art Directors, Lead Artists (and sometimes Senior Artists) are expected to do concept art as needed, if no dedicated concept artist is available.
Working on this concept for a uni brief. Concept: (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/XJeLD) Blockout progress: Struggling to get the platform to fit into the scene properly, but the rest of the blockout is pretty close. Not entirely sure how the roof is supposed to work in the concept so I am basing it on a groin vault.…
Here is a Creature Sculpt I modeled in ZBrush. This is based on the concept "Love, Dead and Metal" by Julia Mato. I tried to capture the character from the concept, Raphaell. The link to the original concept can be found here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1nzkkX
Some of the models are concepted/designed by me, some are a mix (50/50 concepted and just freestyled) and some of them had a bit more detailed concepts. Wouldnt say it goes faster with exact conceptart either tbh :)
no I want it like the concept, im just not worried to get it angle by angle with it. Thinking about adding some of the foreground elements(cliffs and vines) that the concept has. Working also on adding some puddles like in the concept.
Sett, it's a production concept... not every company bothers with doing "promo" concept art that is hardly what is used by the developers, all the quick and dirty stuff is mostly the real concept work, the polished things are just to show the public.
