Heya! I would say you should work on better presentation of the model. I understand the whole "shadow on one side of the face makes him scary" idea for the kind of creature it is, but the white background with the single scene light ruins it. I think the folks who worked on 'The Order: 1886' did a pretty good job of…
3.3Ghz+ CPU and more cores is better for rendering so go AMD. I don't care what others say about intel/hyperthreading, a workload split between more workers is more stable IMO. Tom's says so as well. ASUS motherboards have good overclocking options if you're into that. Just make sure the socket type is the same as the CPU.…
Ah, yes. A couple things: The most useful aspects of the Material Center have been merged into the Material List, so materialCenter.mel is obsolete. Additionally, there have been updates! Check out a few posts up for the latest version (or click here http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1843643&postcount=44)
@ yes, agreed. :) @ Marks, that is true that PBL based workflows require less painted/baked lighting information in the diffuse map but ti still requires quite a lot more compared to film/vfx works. i am currently working on some game assets…
A lot. 1st thing to take care of for Mari. Then the video card (obviously) the most raw power the better, then the vram, but only if you're working on big projects (like 100+ 4096 Udims). I never tried the GTX 980ti in production but having a titan Z back in the day was a god send compared to the quadro k5200 I have right…

I would be interested in seeing an example of that setup if you wouldn't mind uploading? I think my setup doesn't work well, at least in that blend file I uploaded. You might be able to get infinite wrist twist using Transformation constraint and extrapolate while keying with euler, doubt it will work rotating past -180 or…
Kinda did a 180 on my environment. Pretty happy with the vegetation, trees are still kinda icky. Added in castley kinda stuff, gonna work on making them less pristine after work, some vine/root/moss textures could help. I've got a bunch of banners and tent stuff I'm gonna add in tonight as well, not so sure how they'll go…
Moved from Portugal to Poland this year, and I love the winter here. It's snowing as crazy outside now. I like more this cold then those hell hot summer days you can't barely move. and spur, you know it's cold when the river gets frozen: http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/1848/dsc02308f.jpg
