Got a huge sketch dump from the last couple of weeks, I've had a lot of fun practicing muscles, alphas, hard surface, and face stuff, and I hope you all enjoy!
Speaking of interfaces though, there is one point in Blender's favor you missed. Might not be safe for work though; that interface is so sexy it's practically pornographic. Sometimes I open it up just to look at it.
Thanks for the reply and advice! Sorry I didn't ask before using it I just figured I would use it for practice. Is the set still up for grabs? I'm hooked. If not it's all good.
@Psyk0 Actually, that's a great idea, it will make me practice modeling of specific features of the face in the process. @Donkey_Kong I tried to make something with splines but it proves to be quite difficult in almost all scenarios.
I have "Modern Practical Masonry" from: http://www.donhead.com/ Note: Modern is late 1920's, when it was originally published. I bought it for the details on geometry. Have your compass handy.
You should post pictures. Having an extremely subtle seam where you have a split is really common but in practice it shouldn't be visible. If you have something more than that there is a workflow issue.
I too would like to be a part of this. I keep meaning to write short stories and keep in practice but it's hard to find motivation. A brand new forum might just be the place I need!
Still in the very early stages, but I did shape out the face so far, the muscles and so are just personal preference and practice gonna smooth them out before doing clothing.
Indeed: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Vertex_norma The closest it gets to show some practical stuff is with foliage and links to scripts for different apps. Hopefully it'll grow more as this method is more frequently used.
