Is it possible to send commands from Maya to the Stingray console port or to Maya's script editor port? python/mel to lua? Does installation of the DCC link give us any new commands mel functionality we can leverage if nothing else for querying on the Maya side?
I need help smoothing the trigger hole of this colt python. The traditional support loops creates creases, and trying to smooth those creases create different creases. How am I supposed to get the tightness the support loop provides with maintaining the smoothness of the area around it. The mesh in blue wires is the mesh…
I am a computer science student looking to get into the modeling and programing aspects of gaming. I am willing to work for free. Hi Guys. I've been working on Procedural Terrain Generation in Maya. Here is the Youtube demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZQyjntvO_g . If You have any ideas about what should I add, edit or remove I would be glad to hear more from You.
You can just open it with a text editor and copy and paste the code. Sorry I wasn't sure how to save it so that others could just add it to the shelf. I'm just starting to learn python coding for maya, so that will be something I will have to look into. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I wish they did, it'd simplify matters dramatically. There seems to be a distinct disconnect between the painter team's goals and the goals of the designer/SAT teams. Painter is an arse to integrate cleanly into a pipeline - massive binary files, not using python for scripting etc. Do not make for happy tech artists
@JackKnife Here is a 2.8.0 keymap in case you want one It's not exactly the same, but navigation should be. (the code marked red in my original post is the python API call to setup keyboard controls, once you figure out how to set a key binding, the rest should be easy)
does modo not have the whole API, and commands documented like maya? i never used too much of modo but i found with other packages i was able to just jump in and read the docs for the needed commands, since i am already a very experienced python programmer.
That's what's known as an Iterator. It's an inbuilt function that cycles through all the parts of an array: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iterator the same thing in python looks like this: mylist = [1, 2, 4, 56, 6, 7, 34, 99]
You need -control flag to remove the button. I found 2 incorrect instances. deleteUI -control $delete_button; deleteUI -control $add_button; Maya really crashed when you miss that flag. So extreme for such simple mistake... more reason to go Python Qt right :D
