I guess the material is new for 1.3, it's called advancedRefraction or something like that. It's just above flatEnironment material. It only got Diffuse, normal and spec. The normal will only change the refraction (if you don't know what that is check it on wiki :) ) and diffuse and spec is pretty much straight forward :)
That sounds close. The poly count for the mudbox model was about 5 million, then i polycrunched it down to about 1.3 million polygons. When using polycrunch you want to get that count down to about 25% of the original. It should still have all the detail in there even at that much.
I advise. http://www.scott-eaton.com/ (study the academic drawing before the course) https://www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/1763-create-a-game-character-jouster-part-1-maya-photoshop-zbrush-by-adam-fisher-character-human-female https://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/ there are other tutorials ... look at the work of others Good luck!
That 1873 Winchester is a western firearm, but as Mr. Ruggles has pointed out, you've modeled a modern pistol. This is what a 19th century S&W looks like: http://64.177.205.5/smith6.jpg http://64.177.205.5/smith5.jpg What you have looks awesome, by the way, but just not accurate for the period.
Near the end of the SF data in the shader, it says: proporder:2-1037-1306-533-447-69-9-177-571-626-145-476 Remove -476 from that list, and it should work again. This is due to a bug that was in 0.29, in which you saved the shader, most likely
by my calculations you could get the EXACT same shape out of 172 tris, thats without going into all the other things suggested by others edit- thought that might not be that usefull so i whipped this up in a minute or two (148 tris damn my calculations are crap)
I had a quick go, I think it's going to take a bit of time to get completely used to the game. I found this guide here http://www.fpsadmin.com/download/details.php?file=113 that gives more info on classes etc, worth a quick read as the game is not as simple as BF2.
After 2 and a half years running on a 1.73 centrino with a lameass intel gpu (tabletpc), I finally went out and got me a proper laptop. 2.5ghz Core2 Duo 4GB RAM Nvidia 9500M (supposedly it's roughly analogous to an 8600GT) Vista Home Premium LG 22" Wide external monitor
Cessna 172 Interior cabin is completed and shipped off to be rigged up for flight! Interior model came in at 2,870 polygons. Here is a webplayer preview and a link to the site with more information on the project. Webplayer: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16956434/LowPolyAircraftPack/Webplayer/LowPolyAircraftPack.html…
AFAIK the pose and postures don't work on Bip01, you will have to do it by hand (or using other 3dsmax tools). Work down an axis (probably her facing +Y), which I think is a 90degree rotation on Bip01. Then, just work off this as your main axis... if the rotation is 103*, the inverse would be 77*.
