It's working fine here, make sure to hit the button ''bake all texture sets'' since you have 2 materials in your lowpoly you will have 2 texture sets. -

Cant think of much current games that come with support for custom stuff. But starcraft 2 might be interesting? I hope crysis 2 will have a easy pipeline to get custom characters in it. -
Re: Shell materials are all split up/ painter
Looks like your shells have different materials assigned. Make sure you assign 2 actual materials to your 2 parts and not only set up the mat IDs. -

We're are only 2 character artist @ 10tacle, for 6 env. artists. But between 2 characters, we're helping by making specific static meshes and other blocks, hey it's cool too ! -

as a general guide you can get as far north as birmingham and far south as brighton from london in around 2 hours Birmingham is 2 and a half hours. Lots of developers in the midlands
