Wow this is amazing. People always say its practice and not talent. I guess its not true, this can only be the result of natural talent pure and simple... some people are born for this :D
Thanks a lot guys! I opted for Stevston's idea since I'm not too practical of morph targets and it's working great. I'll just have to do it a couple of times to make it perfect.
Tempting for wasting your time! Maybe if you're an absolute beginner you could make some stuff for practice, but other than that, no way, at least try on freelancer.com or other bigger sites.
Can i make the suggestion that your next personal piece isn't a full character then, but instead it's a head that you can have someone rig, and you can practice facial expressions with?
real help: yeah, read the swizzle guide again and practice keeping to the tone of this thread: too bad you suck at texturing, LOL also, why the hell is this in game art workshop!?
Oddly enough. The head and neck is where I need the most practice on characters. One of my coworkers (ENODMI) has the first book. It is really awesome. I need to get a copy.
Had a shot at painting a scene, I really should sketch at least one thing a day. Also gave myself 10 minutes to sketch some characters (color practice, mainly)
blackdragonstory: thanks :) @Luxap: No need to apologise man, I agree with you :) a couple of these were never meant to be projects as such though, they were just me practicing/ passing time. Thanks for the crits!
Looks great! Personally I wouldn't be afraid to add more polys around the curved areas, with next gen around the corner and all. Also that fabric is practically begging for a displacement map!
Thanks for the comments guys. These aren't for a game, just practicing. Gazu, no secret trick really, just splitting UV shells and smoothing groups if the shading gets too extreme. Next one -
