[ QUOTE ] ...She loves to instruct me to find and beat up the 'big bad bear'... [/ QUOTE ] Hey...I didn't even do anything this time...*sniff*... ;] But yah, I agree 100%. This game was definately a refreshing change from the norm and well worth every penny. The characters are great, the gameplay and environments are…
Thanks wake, I was definitely struggling with defining the main body panel, and where to indicate reflections. I think the bbs-style wheels flatten the image as well because the spokes are too thin to indicate reflected light. I'm definitely gonna try and clean this one up a bit. got my 1st official crit on polycount! wa…
Sometimes I'd get the problem seemingly randomly, definately didn't have to do with the checkbox options. Actually now the guruware is causing me problems (not exporting to quads), so I'm back to use the default import/export... I always check my UV's, though. But while the GW worked it was fantastic (lots of nice and easy…
Specualr power controlls the falloff of the highlight. attach a constant to the specular power and crank it to something like 50-60 to get a smaller, glossy style hihglight. the defauly value for spec power is 15 i think. You can also create a simple grey scale gloss map to define areas of diffferent gloss values on your…
for transparency: turn on AlphaBlend in first pass, and do srcblend = ALPHA destblend = ONE_MINUS_ALPHA for the others make srcblend = ALPHA destblend = ONE make sure your colorout.alpha is always the one from the texture which defines transparency I am not familiar with .fx so well, mostly doing OpenGL stuff so some terms…
Yuh, It definately sucks watching first hand what happened to the music industry slowly happening to our industry. For a while, it seemed like consoles fought piracy, but that's apparently changing. Might not be long until all games are services, like MMOs or TF2 than standalone single player games. Might be up to the…
i think i would make the bone of the nose a little more prominate as well as sharpen some the creases of the tip of the nose because right now it looks a little too round. just a few more loops to define and seperate the forms. or you might have enough loops now but just need to move them a little closer together.
bout your maya comment i just read this comment and i think maya would be the go to since this user uses it and i do not atm. https://polycount.com/discussion/comment/2797577/#Comment_2797577 thomasp's comment. (rant: used to be a cool feature where we could quote comment the important post by its self and that is no…
What soft could do it? I tried it in Modo (Indie) and it seems doing that very inefficiently. Besides I need to keep uv islands scale intact and Modo seems re-scale things to fit certain per-defined number of tiles while I need it to add extra tiles if necessary. 3d max seems couldn't do it at all. What are other options?
Has anyone had this problem? I am trying to apply a smart material to a certain section of my mesh, defined through the colour ID map, but for some unknown reason, the material will not appear at all. If I apply a smart material which is not allocated by the colour ID it will appear on that section of the mesh though. I…
