You have Max. Ben Cloward supports DXT5_nm compressed vs. TGA non-compressed, so you can compare them with your own models. http://www.bencloward.com/shaders_NormalMapSpecular.shtml 3Dc (aka BC5 in DX10) is really really close to uncompressed in quality, you would be hard-pressed to see the difference.
Since Blizzard would rather cancel any project regardless how much budget it already consumed, over releasing a bad game, i have hopes that they will be equally strict with the movie. There's sure enough story and stuff in the Warcraft universe/games to make an Epic movie ala LoTR. That's hard to match, but the maerial is…
I think the people who's names are mentioned would - given the chance - thank a lot of people, afterall they know how it works. Alas, ignorance is so much fun... I try to avoid any sort of comment system these days for fear of wanting to add another person to my hitlist for complete retardation.
Loop and ring selection tools won't work if the mesh is triangulated...? Alas I don't know of a tool to do this in Max. I know Maya has one, hmm. There must be a way to do it in Max! I haven't found one yet though, and I've looked for one myself from time to time...
ok aggainst my better judgement i bought this game, so far its boring to play but i like making movies like this My first movie a romantic sci fi about a female space pilot from the future falling in love with a WWI german soldier, but alas this http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/11299 anyone else with this game post your…
Comet Rename. Essential IMO (other rename tools are available). http://coopdesign.org/aac/cometRename.mel And if you can actually find a working/compiled copy then Roadkill Pro (NOT the free version on the pullinshapes site, they are completely different). But its the best tool ive used for UV'ing much more efficient than…
^ and if you wanted splattered blood just ndo the photoshop layer and make it very smooth, aka 0 roughness and wow 3d blood wow. Up to you it's just like any other material. I would also try and make the wear on your blade look more believable. The model is looking great:)
this is the final iteration, tad more sharp, less glossy alas without a ton of extra bits like a little rat/mouse sitting and peaking out of an eye socket or the little imps I wanted to add so bad lol oh well maybe next time :) model Thx for stepping by and taking a peak :)
Thanks Jessica. :) Man it's been too long since I posted, blarg. Need to update more, haha. I updated the final design but alas here at school I don't have that updated file... :/ I will post it when I get home tonight though, definitely would still love critique on it. :)
You'll probably need some 2D software as well for textures and showing off your work here in Pimping and Previews. Unfortunately the free - open source alternatives don't quite measure up to the commercial offerings such as Adobe Photoshop... GNU Image Manipulation Program, aka. GIMP. (for textures) Inkscape (for vector…
