Hey, not a bad start for a first time! I'd suggest giving the Move brush a shot to push/pull those shapes around to get your overall proportions right, especially the back/sides of the head, before you continue too far with the face. Also maybe a couple sphere's for eyes would help your sculpt. Keep it up!
Thanks for the continued feedback Nistrum :) I loaded in a reference in to zbrush and started moving the base model around. The project leader wasn't too happy to hear that I would spend the morning redoing some work he thought was done. But I think it was well worth it :D Now I need to match the armor to the new base…
i continued work on the receiver but i ran into a problem when working on the back piece, you can see it looks all deformed because the mesh isn't relaxed. so i had to redo it since that is a very important part of the skin that will always be on camera.it's still not perfect but i don't think i can do any better.
@ afisher : Thanks dude. Yeah the realistic stuff is tougher but I think I need to get into it a bit more, to really try and improve. A bit more fun on this guy. The neck is looking a bit flat at the moment, and the damage in general needs a bit of work but I may or may not continue with him depending on my next…
Hmm, if you don't weigh the bottom front of the pants to the lower leg, but only to the thigh, the joint will just be hidden under there and it wont show him as having a missing knee (of course I can't see the topology of the leg part under the cloth). But the back hem would have to move. Saw this in the low poly thread,…
Hiya Polycount! Long time no see :) I've started a Masters degree in Computer Animation in order to continue my studies as I won a scholarship! :O I've also been busy with a few concept art/storyboarding jobs in London which has been exciting! So here's work I can show that I've done in the interim:
Damian!!!! Thank you for your comment! Without you good sir, my love of foliage would of never become a reality. Your 3d motive tutorials ROCK (which I really respect) and your portfolio work is my biggest inspiration as an environment artist. :D Thank you everyone for the continual motivation :D !! I love polycount.
@PixelMasher Thank you for our thoughts, it dose mean a lot, I have already started to put out free mini tutorials for tips and tricks on Youtube and doing live streams as well so people can come and ask questions. Its something I would like to still continue doing :) @sacboi Thank you for your message.
Quick update guys; - Finally added the door, and closed off the scene. - Changed the ceiling, texture is still a wip but it's coming along. - Replaced the opaque window with a proper one, although you cannot see it in this shot. - Worked the light rig a lot more, it still needs a lot of tweaking but it's looking better…
Did anyone grab the retail PC version? I've heard conflicting info on how much data you get on the disks vs how much you have to download. After spending several days continuously downloading to get Doom, it'd be nice if I could get at least a significant portion of this game off the hard copy.
