Just realized I hadn't commented on this yet. The hair is looking so good! It looks super soft and the front has a really nice sheen to it. Are you gonna go realistic on the face texture and give her pores etc? Can't wait to see the next update!
@airage I like your texture. looks so realistic in the render pic. @sipher Your trees are great. nice style. @Manticora I like the light in your scene and your path. good work. I think i should recreate my textures ^^.
Some initial design ideas. Not really sure if i want to with the realistic style art or with the a more cartoony style like hearthstone. I am liking the idea of having some type of pirate themed marking on her face but it needs more exploration into different designs.
Your skin overall needs more polish. This tutorial will be the most helpful: https://www.marmoset.co/posts/creating-realistic-skin-toolbag-saurabh-jethani/ Your hood needs to have more polygonal density. There's such a dramatically distracting contrast between the fidelity of that vs your head.
Looking really good! I think it looks very close to the official Overwatch style. The only criticism I have really is that the eyes might be too large still, overwatch characters generally have actually pretty realistic-sized eyes (except maybe Mei).
I'm pretty bad at reading people, so I'll ask directly, just to be sure that I understand what you all meant: is the ability to draw/sculpt a realistic human on the spot, without the use of references, something so hard and rare, that it's regarded as nearly magical?
RAD!.... perhaps the waist is a little too thin (or the hips start too low) for the more realistic style an proportions it looks like you are going for. Other than that I think this is quite a refreshing take for the contest and I am really looking forward to seeing this develop.
my goodness. this is really coming along well!! The colored WIP looks so lively already. Your translation of a more realistic Aigis is spot on. The persona fan in me is astonished. Inb4 some game journalist decides to feature this piece on a persona fan art article.
that's true. But some talks at GDC and what not will go so far into details, and in some cases, even show code clips and stuff. or rigging solutions that make things more realistic. It's just strange why some things are kept secret, while others arent. *shrug*
Ditto on the feet, but that's a small thing. As a fan of the cartoon, I have to admit man, that's freakin' sick. Nice work. I really like the texture on the black parts of the suit, you really nailed it. Hard to do a realistic version of a cartoon character, so nice work.
