Really like the layout of this 100x better then the previous. Once your work fills those empty spaces it'll be great. Im assuming your resume/cv button will be useable later :D The only thing i would suggest is working on your proportions a little more :)
Enable snap to grid (the snap menu button in the texture editer), then either enable snapping or hold ctrl to toggle it on. You could also enter in the coordinates manually, so if you had verts that were close to the border, you could select them and enter 0 or 1
In the statue from their belly button downs on both seem bulky. Guy looks like has focused only on leg day. Girl has some serious obliques? I dont know which muscle it is. Her waist area is super developed all the way around.
You should be able to copy the weights from one vert and paste it to the other. like Monster pointed out if the weights are identical it will behave the same. In the skin modifier click the wrench button and use the copy/paste functions. If it still tears apart, there is something seriously weird going on.
Down in the right hand corner, next to the little foot prints set that to "Sub Object Rotate" then when you press Z it will re-focus and rotate the viewport on whatever is selected, be it verts polys or objects. Then hold down Alt + Middle Mouse Button to drag and rotate around.
usually I planar map the whole mesh so's I know where everything is, mark my seams and then use quick peel with the expand selection to seams button. it's pretty much just a case of relaxing and packing after that (except on ears etc. which are complete gits).
Yeah I dont think you can do this unless you go to the local rotation axis and manually set it. Might be able to orient constraint it with a locator. What i do is have a seprate button for freeze transform with scale, rotate and transform and one all in one
Fixed it! It definitely was that extra face I had floating around in the background. Forgot I had changed the belly button a bit and didn't weld the UV's there. Changing it messed with the vertex order and caused some difficulties, but I managed to save my sculpting job. Everything is great! =]
Awesome start :) I might be totally wrong but It looks like the waist area is a little too narrow, the groin area could be dropped down a bit and that will also resolve having the belly button too low as I think it might be the case right now :) Good luck with this!!
I agree with the comments on the hair, veins and spurs. They are the first things I noticed. Also, the thread on the button should really be brown. It stands out so much on his back that I think it looks really bad. Other than that though great model and texture work.
