Albedo and diffuse are pretty similar, so I can understand people using the same terms, but the base color texture should not contain any lighting information and be as physical accurate as possible.
Off to a late start, starting with the heater and briefcases tomorrow. There's something between the sled and plank with rope tied to it, it looks alot like a part of another red heater, or some metal container.
I've read that it obviously doesn't contain all the functionality of normal MODO and can only output limited .fbx files that are only licensed for use in the Steam Workshop. So that's understandable, but a shame.

Smart object layers are, indeed, stored inside the PSD file containing them. They simply aren't resized in a destructive manner - they stay at their original size until rasterized. Very useful stuff.

Onslaught is basically a psychic energy being contained in a suit of armor, so the 'sameness' of the hue isn't technically "wrong". However, I would give it more of a metallic specular to emphasize that, meself.

The polycount wiki is my second F1.. Yeah, it does not contain everything (yet), but it is very comprehensive, and new stuff are added all the time. If you want more in it, there is always a way of getting it there.
