Also don't use the included Valve skeleton ms3d file. It's best to decompile the .MDL and use it's reference skeleton instead. -

I have to honestly say that slime and gore isn't actually that freaky. In terms of a real life situation it would make you crap your pants of course, but in terms of media we're basically desensitized. When I was a kid the Thriller video, or Army of Darkness, scared me shitless, but I've seen so much of that stuff by now… -
Re: Remove the bones and keep the skin in maya 2012
Pose your model using the skeleton. Then do edit>Delete All By Type> History. You can then delete the skeleton and have just the posed model left. -

I had to redo the skeleton from scratch man...I'll try to upload the sdk for the idgirl, you'll have the body skeleton in it (and in a work/rig compliant pose) -
