I decided to do several more weird dragon designs, because I was not satisfied with the first batch and wanted to explore more this theme. This below is a butterfly dragon (but probably "bat" suits him better). It came out as an experiment. I wanted to explore a new technique involving 3d modeling for generating…
I agree with Brad - and I really need to use shift-drag on edges more. All this time I've been clicking "Extrude", dragging, clicking "extrude", dragging, etc.
Also, try extrude! It's awesome because it does the same thing as connect but faster. Select the edge, select extrude, select 0 for heght and then drag the edges to the size you want.
I did and it comes out a mess , did you read what I wrote after? extruding the cages , messes up the windows because the vertices overlap on each other the more I extrude it .
Okay what I am trying to do is extrude from all 4 faces, I guess that works separately from just moving or scaling the object, is there a way to extrude from all 4 faces at once?
how do you make the UV map all nice after extruding the face along a curve, i always get that one face on the UV editor and the extruded edge i have to UV manually, very painful, any tool or technique? Thanks.
I started with a plane and traced the silhouette by extruding. I thinks it's just the topology that's causing me problems. After extruding the margins I try to bevel them to give that round look to it, but it doesn't look right, at the bottom at least.
looking much better now. 1 more crit tho. the sides of the grip (the grainy part) should be extruded in, should it not? yours is currently extruding outward.
