For me, it doenst work at all but I think I did it wrong, because in the video it works. Anyway, I binded the script to a hotkey and after using the combination he jumps into nowhere and the rotation axis is completely off. Hard times switching to maya :D Maybe it doesnt work with Maya 2017? EDIT: Okay, sometimes it works.…
Ok. Does this conclude your userSetup file or is that one read? if not you should seek into solving that because thats probably why nothing else works and I dont know why your maya wont read it. Maybe something you changed when you tried changing the maya script folders? Anyway, if you cant get that to work - why dont you…
Modo is a great modeling tool. Hard to beat it for mechanical and environment work, especially now with MeshFusion. For hard-surface stuff it is really awesome. It is an extremely capable poly/sub-d modeler. However, as others in this thread have stated, there are still some lingering disappointments/frustrations and I…
I’m curious how others here handle unit and scale consistency across different tools and engines. In my experience, scale drift tends to creep in over time — especially when assets move between Blender, game engines, and other DCCs. Even when everyone “knows” the correct units, small inconsistencies still seem to cause…
thank you! That makes sense) i was just wondering if it anyhow connected to maya`s differences in polygon shading in UV editor. I thought maybe i did something wrong with the model or it`s maya`s issue and i have to click on some button or do something to fix it, but i guess it`s not necessary because i shouldn`t even…
Have you checked the Temp dir to see if Maya wrote a backup during the crash? Its usually in C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Local Settings\Temp You could try exporting the scene out as Maya ASCII or OBJ and re-import. I've fixed broken meshes that way, maybe it will work with broken scenes.
To the OP: Learn both Max and Maya and learn other tools and keep learning and learning. The learning never stops. Maya probably has the brighter future, IM0, but there will continue to be all-Max studios or Max-specific jobs. It makes sense to be good in both tools, maybe great if you can swing it. Neither tool is Nirvana…
Yeah, the workflow for using corrective blendshapes on a smooth skin in Maya is kinda backwards... There are two solutions as far as I know. One is to use the math behind the blendshapes, it can also be automated using scripting. Basicaly you have to create additional shapes that you subtract from the model you're working…
5. What you get is scenename:objectname. Do you need to import maya files? .fbx and maybe other formats won't give you this problem. If you do need maya files you can use this script I wrote to rename selected objects from scenename:objectname to objectname after import. And if you wanted to you could actually create your…
still need to do a lot of work, like adding a method to control the sensitivity(maybe by camera distance to elements being worked on?) but everything seems to work pretty well atm https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2360554/mayaScripts/pbInteractiveTools.zip simply install by dragging the contents of the zip into your maya scripts…
