The visual noise update is great, the coat is way better to read. I think the color update you did is a bit too much, kinda feels like there's a violet layer that's over it preventing me to see the actual texture; but it helps harmonising the whole thing, I'd personally go for something halfway between the two versions.…
Not okay that your thread got knocked back to page two. Your new project is just too good. Make a new thread, either here or in General Discussion, don't be shy! Show it off! Your stuff is some of the best this site has ever seen! You need to get more attention than you're getting. Guys, as polycounters it's in our best…
Wood beam sculpting looks awesome! I wouldnt bother sculpting any more though; one should be enough. Think about it, you'll have two unique ends and 4 unique sides so if you model right you'll be able to add a ton of variation (the thread of mine you posted on, all those wood beams were just one texture, and it's not too…
Cool, Sata 3 seems like the way to go then. Yeah the OS could do with an upgrade too, but I need to keep this as low budget as poss. Jon, I've currently used 100GB of my main drive - I'd only use it for OS, programs and working project files. So 250GB should be good. I've found two versions of the Samsung Evo (a basic…
Great scene! I love how organic the placement of everything feels. Two thing that stood out to me: >The tree bark texture you have in the first image looks off. It feels too noise, as if it where a procedural 3d noise. >This is just my opinion but you could tone down the sun shafts a tad. They're overpowering the image.…
I think I'll do that. Got a tonne of photos I've taken recently too, so I'm going to try draw them. I'll look into my local art gallery and see if I can find something I like. Plus I'll pop over the G+ and search for those two guys you mentioned. Thanks! One more thing, if anyone has any early works of 2D art, feel free to…
for me personally your presentation graphics are too messy. When you show just one asset, like this grenade, put two of them on the screen on front and one back view, maybe show your wireframing, an AO render and most definately your uv layout. A LOT of people can do nice stuff but don't consider poly or tricount and how…
I have a question too about the metalness workflow. When I'm using a metalness texture, it totally wash out the colors of my albedo and I don't understand why (see attached image). I put my mask texture with two colors : black for non-metal and white for metal. On this mesh the metal part is the attach on the cloth in the…
It's still a WIP, and she's already awesome. Your talent with stylization it's so strong. Who knows one day I reach this level too. For clothes, I think it depends your purpose. If you want her more sexy, #1 define her shapes better, letting us to see her legs shapes. #3 gives her a much cutier and childish appearence,…
You may want to use some more polygons on the more curved/rounded edges of the low poly to make it match the hipoly more accurately. Those sharp 90 degree straight edges aren't going to do full justice to all the love that you gave them. The noise of the scuplts looks a bit patchy, you've got roughened and damaged faces…
