Canary yellow..:poly127: Construction yellow :poly121: more like a dis. By using yellow as your accent color, you've lost your ability to use the typical construction yellow/caution striping as a separate element. You should consider making an accent color, and keeping the yellow for your decals/caution fixtures.
This looks great! I really like how readable everything is and how well the game play elements standout from the background environments. Are there plans to swap out those widescreen "fill bars?" Maybe allow the player to choose between a few; or have more become unlocked over time. Just some thoughts.
I don't know what your poly budget is, but perhaps making one shelf and a few clusters of books, that you can place and repeat on the shelves? For such a large element of the library the bookshelves are too flat IMO. I really like everything else you got so far and look forward to seeing it completed.
Giant insectoid enemies in games. Level bosses with multiple appendages that must be destroyed one at a time. In-story rationalization for game-specific elements like save points, ostensibly to maintain suspension of disbelief; but that always end up doing the opposite by hokeying up the gameworld. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU,…
Awesome work! Not sure if you've seen this, but someone made Mei back a while back: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=072270 (I know she's not in your image, but there's elements that really capture Miyazaki's style). Before you head to making the cute totoro, I'd LOVE to see a decrepidly disturbing Catbus…
Neither is 'better' with polygons. How many polygons use use on a specific platform depends more on how much memory you have available and how much you dedicate to elements of your game. The xbox has more memory and a more traditional gpu. Take that for what you will, but it's not true that either is 'better at polygons'.
cool box! other minor thingy, I wouldn't don't bother with padding around each element, just connect them up and it could be easier to remove seams too. Also I'd just sample a small section of the outer frame, for use on the inset extruded edge. That way your texture will be 100% wood
HI everybody Thanks rooster for the tip you provided, we should have enough elements soon to start all of this testing stuff more accurately ^^ By the way, some new stuff are on the project blog so feel free to take a look when you got a bit time for , you are welcome ;) http://knightmareproject.wordpress.com/
It would be really interesting if they have Umbrella set up like an American prescription drug company, testing their new products on people of African nations. I'd like to see that kind of real world element come into a popular game like this where gamers might become a little more aware. Looks really good.
So far the reviews are saying good things, some coworkers of mine were playing it. It looks like a unique (although straight forward) shooter with a decent multiplayer element. But I won't be trying it out at home anytime soon, probably in two years when it's on the greatest hits section with a much cheaper PS3 price.
