Zbrush --------> 3dsmax obj import (Taking for eva
At work some of of guys will make a mesh in max, export it as a Wavefront obj... then take that obj into Zbrush, then export the 300,000 poly object back as an obj for importing into max. Then in 3dsmax we want to import that obj. Problem is... Max can take 40 mins -> 2 hrs. to finally load in the high res mesh. MAx seams… -

I am not surprised at all, considering how much Activision makes. And when you look at his base Salary, it's less than a million. Hey I see that no one has posted in a bit and you may not have the texture problem any more, but I have a free unwrap tool that I have and the wire frame dump is always right on and easy to save out. It also comes with lots of extra tools that make unwraping fun!!! any way, you should still always make the selection around… -

Thanks for that! Sorry for the double post, and the late reply. Forgot to check back in for a little while. I unfortunately don't have any work saved. I never got anything I was satisfied with, and just kept restarting and playing around more with the brushes and filters but could never quite get it right. Not too long… -
Crits on base mesh
I don't do a lot of modeling, but decided to try to make a new base mesh. I tried to keep it pretty low poly. Here's the results: Let me know how I did. -

Hmm...shield you say...that sounds like a cool idea. My plan was to take it one step forward and make them into weapons but the shield idea grabs me more. Render to Texture and UnrealEd
Sorry about asking such a vauge question. I'm having trouble with the Render to Texture stuff. I don't know if its my ignorance on the subject or if I'm doing something wrong, but it's not coming out right.
