Hi everyone, A bit late to the polycount but I've decided to try out my skills and learn something new. I'll be making a game environment scene based on Helio Frazao's concept that he did for environment design challenge. You can follow the progress of challenge at artstation website or here on polycount thread. At first I…

Yep you guys are totally right. I did some digging and I found some info on TA.org that strangely enough Eric helped author =P It looked really familiar too, it explained how to get nicely smoothed gradients over hard edged geometry. So yea I remembered it could be done just forgot the specifics. It's funny because I my…
Nice dude.- I dig the head a lot. The little beady eyes and the text are actually a pretty cool and I don't think I`Ive ever really seen that before. the "I can`t understand your jokes bit" is killer too. you can tell you really thought a bit about the fiction behind this. style crits: for the text, you might want to try…
2300511685 Overall it looks like you're already on the right track. It really just depends on what the model is for. If it's for games: the brake has a very rough surface finish and it's a very small part that's typically further away from the player's main point of view. So the current high poly is more than passable…
Gonna pre-face this rant by saying this just represents my opinion as an individual, as a person, homo sapiens. @NikhilR EDIT: im not gonna comment on the culture war stuff as i agree and disagree with tons of points and thats a whole other thing. Im going to just mention stuff me as a dev and as a consumer think about…
I ended up changing the logic of the tool and instead of importing FBXs into houdini I now instantiate the unreal engine actors on points where my windows, doors and balconies are supposed to be. It was a bit painful and i still do not understand why the previous method broke but now things are working
Great thread. But not enough conspiracy n00bs or "nothing to see, move along" people, like you would find in a discussion here. Glad to know it's becoming common knowledge that Bush acts like a clueless dumbass to convince 51% of American voters, he's one of them. That does qualify him as a genius. Except for the fact he's…
I wanted to make a current/next gen version of Sanctuary from Borderlands 2. I have been at it for about 1.5 months now and need some feedback before I get any further into it. Any critique would be greatly appreciated. This is quite ambitious for someone who doesn't know what they're doing, but I don't have any real time…
