So this is a little journal I'm making logging the progress of building a 3D model based off a piece of 2D art. The intent will be to make this into a game-ready asset I can bring into Unreal. At the moment it's only a high-poly sculpt, and retopology is next. Any advice or questions anyone has, I'd be more than happy to…
despite Facebook, mandatory account logging in etc. which makes polls ; it is a great piece of hardware and about affordable to a first public / companies etc Can't wait to see any concurrence ! What do you play? If you're into shooters I'd recommend Onward :) Very interesting use of hand tracking on here:…
nice ghetto cintiq! since I saw this I have done nothing but lurk at the bongofish forums! do you have a work log for it? I am currently modding a detal fight stick into a ps3 wireless fight stick and using that pcb to make a multiconsole fight stick... how difficult did you find that build?

lol this thread still on going little bit off topic but if you make war games this could be very good detailed source for game design because its based on real documents just been released. http://wardiary.wikileaks.org/ now complete with online log tab and google map/earth marking for your convenience ...
Good point about the metal staying the same brightness as the ones near the bottom. I brightened them up some. I also changed the saturation on the log to try and make it less pale and closer to the branches. Hi Ben, you're right. I will paint a dirt texture next and have it fade out around the edges.
A few of the insanely great perks of: Modo: Licence can follow to work and back home again, or anywhere else for that matter. No fuss or hassle. Steam: steam based licenses basically = floating license. Substance Designer/Painter on steam allow you to take it where ever you can log into your steam account, no extra cost.
Logged some procrastination time with these new concepts. Really need to focus on my drawing. The top one might not work because of animations and such and the bottom one might not suite Abbadon. Will still be good practice for me. I am hoping too get a little more adventurous with my weapon designs before moving onto sets.
First pass of the stove/log burner/thing for my scene, not happy with it so far. Unsure if I should go further away from the original photo to make a more impressive stove but either way I'll experiment to get this looking better. Update of stuff in Unreal 4 looking terrible due to the lighting. :D
That is wicked. As Ged said, true to the concept. One thing I'd do is bevel in the outside of the wheels. In the model now, the wheels look like log slices (which is rather appropriate), but in the concept they were more identifiable as wheels just by having them bevel inwards. I like the touch where the branch ends are…
