This link has lots of info for you to browse. But payment should always be discussed before you start the work. Some people do pay pal. some do email transfers. some do invoices with bank accounts. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Freelance
You can use whatever you want as a Freelancer, you just have to hand an asset off to the studio that does the integration into their pipeline in house. A studio with mixed versions of the same software is a headache enough, a "use whatever you want" studio would be a nightmare.
I need milkshape because it is the only program that has an exporter to cmp files for freelancer. Otherwise as you can see, I'd love to use max or maya even. How do you deselect the faces that you don't want as I've tried that too.

Hey Vando, Are you available for a freelance commission at the moment? If so, please contact me at DeadHorseGamez@Gmail.Com. If not, feel free to contact me anyway. If you are available at a later date, that may work as well. The work would be a bit similar to the art in this thread. Regards, Jon
Utterly despicable - I've got no time for parasites like that. As you say - the legal cost won't even be covered by the payout that you'll receive. Reason why I'd definately think twice before using an outsourcing group, and i'd rather use a freelancer where possible.
Have a read through this article by Jon Jones. He pretty much nails it and being an outsource manager he is the type of guy who will be looking at your site for freelancing. There is also a CrunchCast or 2 that go over in detail some pretty awesome advice on websites/folios.
