@ ZacD, none of the images are really huge, except the background image itself. The images are loading in with a pre-load script instead of having them load with lightbox so there shouldn't be any issues. Is anyone else still having load time issues?
We just released the playground map for Hypercharge: Unboxed, so I snuck this baddy in under some stairs. I was also able to work with @ZacD on making this beautiful skateboard model we use a few times throughout the map. It looks incredible in-game and can't thank him enough for such a high quality model and sick…
yeah that is the workflow I have been doing @ZacD . It works fine, I just had the urge to do the old workflow for some reason, and my mind got stuck on why the Normal green channel is so bright compared to what i get.
ZacD Haha I love it , so frickin great. Hmm I don't really have a lot of funny ones. I shall leave for the photo-archives immediately! skankerzero Gotta love the Pikachu-suit xD Would love to have one myself!
Thanks NoChance, when modeling this I had reference but I did feel I was getting some proportions off. Thanks for pointing those out. Thanks ZacD, hopefully will have a relatively finished version soon so I can begin zbrushing.
@ZacD I was looking to get the shadows sharper, as you are suggesting, and everywhere I've found says to increase the light map resolution. After thinking about it, I understand the fault in my logic. Any idea how to increase shadow sharpness with the directional light?
I agree with ZacD throw a base texture on there first and see if it's even noticeable from a reasonable distance. A player would never be able to get that close to an object in 99% of use cases unless you're intending for this to be in VR and actively being picked up and inspected.
Commador: I wish I had a solid number for you. It was on an off over the week. Really hard to say. Maybe 4-5 hours? That sounds too long, But maybe with all the interruptions and stopping it took that long. ZacD: Glad you approve!
nVidia aren't immune to software/hardware issues; I'd buy whatever has the best price:performance (and after googling that there aren't any known issues with vital software you use). I also agree with ZacD, wait for the new line if you can.
ZacD : Yeah for sure. I want to get everyone there as well. But I am slowly introducing features for the beginners. Jumping into the heavy stuff off the bat will scare more beginners away. Mind you everyone is welcome to take it steps beyond the reference.
