thanks pixel, I had to get rid of the big scratches in the end - wasnt quite the damage they were looking for but it was easy to change in 3dcoat just a fun sketch, 1 or 2hrs or something. Also been doing alot of anatomy practise in pencil in my sketchbook - havent been bothered to scan or upload that stuff in a long time.
for me it´s silhouette, topology, and if its a character, have some good thinking on the edgeloops for places that will deform. Edit: for very low poly, better using a different palette on colors and use 1 point pixel brush. Will trully give you sharpen details instead of blurred ones. Try to always contrast lines and…
Nice work, I like the chunky shape of the model. The texture you could do with a bit more detail and contrast, though... maybe not too much saturation since it's meant to look old, but definitely go in there with a 1-pixel brush and some darker darks and lighter lights, pick out the fine details Good stuff!
Hey awesome stuff as always. I learned to use a single pixel brush from you back when you did that Darth Maul paint over .psd, which seems like a bazillion years ago now. Your stuff Rocks man! Keep inspiring future generations of game artists! DOWIII Entry
the problem is..i have no idea who manufactured it , actually i bought this laptop ( prepare to laugh ) from my grandmother who actually worked her life in computer engineering, and is quite good, no pixel shading thou...runs ut 2004 semi fine...blarp...instaling the omega drivers currently....will edit post with furtther…
really don't get how this is considered something new. hyping up consoles, pc graphics boards, whatever. remember the C64 loading screens? sometimes beautifully pixeled stuff and then the actual game looked like poo... what's the big deal with the PS3 now, is it somehow in fashion to constantly bash that "box to run games…
Yeah Im really looking forward to this one just for the graphics alone - it really comes close to looking like a polished cartoon and gets away from the CG, pixel drawn or2.5D look of other titles like this. If they could do a side scrolling mario bros. for the wii in this style I could die a happy man!
Brain, I use that undo trick too, but it's useful only when I'm snapping to the grid. That's true about allowing the UV's to be a little off though, since it won't matter at the pixel level. But I'm compulsive about things like that... If you're able to write a shell snapping script, please let me know about it.
And you're sure its not just the hardware display? It's definitely rendering like that too? Just to be clear here, when you say 'distortion' you're referring to the pixellation right? Or is there another issue I'm missing? I just replicated exactly what you have. Seems to work to me. Try it here:…
Thanks for the crit pixel. I knew hes proportions where/are off, but I've been so busy fixing other problems, I didnt notice it was that much (the pants are suppose to be "baggy" tho). I've keept the front quite clean as it in a sense adds to hes almost mutated back. But I definitely see your point.
