Thanks alot!! I used Epic's learning resource water as a starting point. It looks pretty good out of the box but there are some more things I need to add in, such as pond scum and bubbles around the edges. That might end up being vertex painted. I also played around with lighting and skies some more. Closer to the mood I…

Alright guys and gals, we're now open to artists interested in working up in the frigid wasteland. We're looking for very immediate positions, so willingness to pack your bags and run with it are a must. We're working on a variety of PSN/XBLA/Wiiware games at the moment, with primary focus on the XBLA/PSN side of it all.…
I've been looking for a solution to align an entire UV island to the nearest 90 degree rotation from either an edge selection or two uv's selected. Manually rotating uv islands just to get rectangles squared up in the uv editor is a huge waste of time and being able to do that with a button press would be a godsend. I'm…
It's a good starting point, but you need to massage the overall exposure. Mood != Black. Water is highly reflective and bounces tons of light around... especially still water in a cove like this. I did a quick paint over to illustrate the point: another thing is that the composition is kinda busted. You took the most…
Thank you guys so much for the feedback! @ TophT Thanks for the critique, really valid points. Going to go back over a lot of it! @ VanLogan Really great points, especially the lighting. Thank you tons for the texturing related feedback! I'll look into substance Painter then since you and Brain recommend it! @ Brian…
I think they probably just mean a version of your folio images (on a USB stick will do fine usually, print 'em out if you like but only if you can get good prints) and perhaps a print-out (or two) of your CV. It'll likely just be so they can have stuff there to go over and ask questions about in your interview.
Generally the big problems with TN are the bad viewing angles, color shifting, and for me personally, every TN panel I've ever seen/used has a constant gradient across the screen that makes texturing/painting a pain in the ass. Color reproduction is probably a bit less important than we typically make it out to be if…
I think having the bulk of their innovation be hardware based was Nintendo's biggest mistake. Unfortunately they sacrificed memory for a "wow factor". The Wii is a lot of fun at first, but after the novelty wears off you're left with a sub-par console in terms of graphics and processing power. The Gamecube suffered a…
Yea I think a bit of love on the material definition to create some roughness separation between the materials could help alot. And possibly approaching your unwrap in a different way than the round shell on the top, and the rest of the uv shell treated like a cylinder. I assume you could just split it down the middle, and…
