Eve of Ebon is an overhead hack 'n' slash RPG that focuses on action and storytelling, being developed by Phantom 5 Studios. We consider the game to be a throwback of sorts of styles of the late 1990s, Legacy of Kain, Diablo, and Castlevania to name a few, but very much it's own unique universe. Take control of the…
Regarding textures, I think end-grain on wood cuts against growth would increase believability. Else it will look as those edges are covered with veneer.
I was just at Supernova on the weekend and had a chance to talk to some of the uni representatives. QANTM and JMC are heavily character based while, the best IMO, AIE focused on both. The best part about AIE is that, the second year they pit you up with the classes from design, programming and art to make a project. Very…
This has come along way jadeEyePanda! It's looking quite nice. Here are a few suggestions: It's probably a good time to start working on matching the style a bit better. Here's a screenshot of a blood elf from the WoW model viewer. Notice how the Dark line around the eyes thins out and stops before reaching the bottom? I'd…
I used the reference in orthographic view, but the actual reference isn't perfectly side on. I did end up changing the end piece a little, it was one of the things I noticed was wrong after posting it. Hey fellow Polycounters I haven't posted in a while so here is some of the more recent work I have been doing. I started up this series called the ENL- Series. ENL stands to Eyes,Nose and Lip. Here I have created an ENL of Slyvestor Stallone. This took about 2 hrs, program used photoshop.
"If you start off mediocre it will end up super ordinary at best. So start with super awesome insane biblical epic-ness and hopefully you’ll end up with awesomeness." That is some awesome advice. I always end up with less than I started with, so I'm definetly going to start OTT with my next character!
Hello. I'm not a concept artist myself, I do technical art. But on my previous studio project I was working on, there was a concept artist / art director who implemented 3d (3d coat - > unreal) into his workflow seamlessly, and he use it great in my opinion. On the end of this post, I'll leave a link to his artstation so…
Hey been working in this field for about 6 years as a general artist. Can only speak for a medium sized company so it might be totally different for other companies. I think the most important part to have a healthy relationship to work is to accept the fact that you are a tool for the company. You might love the project…
I'm a character artist - have been doing this for almost 6 years. I've had to review a lot of resumes and portfolios. I never look at the education background, I only care about the quality of work. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts that cost a lot of money and I didn't really need it to get the job I have. My friend had a…
