Ah, well then have you tried just using a decal to fake it? The only other thing I can think of at the moment would be to use a colored mask and project it with a point light, but I think CE3 only allows b&w masks for lights. -

Awesome, got it working. Thanks for the help! =] As for my original question. I think I will make 2 different actions for the red/green curvature maps and the "cavity curvature" maps. And call em: Peaks/Pits (R/G). Peaks/Pits (B/W). -

it seems to me that either a. studios are trying to save money just in case a game doesn't sell well. or b. the executives and higher up people are taking bigger paychecks to fill their wallets and cutting jobs mean more money for them. Either way it sucks. -

you should hook your gloss into the alpha channel of a linear interpolate node, with a low value of 8 and a high value of 256. your node should look like this: a: 8 (constant) b: 256 (constant) alpha : glossmap plug that into your spec power. -

Once again thanks for all the suggestions! I went back and did a few minor changes, which do you prefer. A (the newer one with a light blue spec map) or B (the original) EDIT: Please note that the lighting has a small blue hue to it! -

max scanline differences from maya max mental ray vs maya and for kicks, Max Mental ray vs Max Scanline All of these are level enhanced to show the differences more clearly. ,b ut the differences are pretty clear, mostly in the green channel. -

Dan! - that was significantly later in the war, in an area that had seen heavy aerial bombardment by the B-17s of the 8th Air Force in a way the French countryside never did. Taking it that far wouldn't be quite accurate, if he's aiming for historical accuracy... Maybe somewhere in the middle? -

I made power tools at Black and Decker for 5 years with another 5 years on the dole to top it off. That was when I still thought I was gonna be a rockstar though. When that didn't pan out I went for plan B which was videogames.
