Yes this is how the last version came up. http://faltzer2142.deviantart.com/art/First-Anime-Character-359860707?q=gallery%3Afaltzer2142&qo=0 I didn't really like the final results so I started working on a new one http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119215

considering that a lot of the industry is using substance, your smart materials are going to be optimized for painter and will be easier & faster to lose. Even if a program isn't the best, it's value increases the more people use it. I've seen plenty of jobs requiring 3DSMAX experience and only 1 for Maya. 0 for every…
It's a newer change to zspheres, so the tutorials are slightly outdated. You'll just need to go to the Adaptive Skin subpalette and turn Dynamesh Resolution down to 0. You might also want to drop Density down to 1 (density is basically how many times the zsphere result is subdivided from the start).
If you are using transparency, then sorting will mess up, use masked blending instead. It might mean a little rough alpha'd edges. Turn off specular, set it to 0. Take your base color and desaturate a little, plug that into your subsurface color. Set shading model to 2 sided foliage.
Its been a while since I've done Mel but this should work. Basically concatenating a whole command into String. Nice idea btw. for ( $i=0; $i<$count; ++$i ) { string $command = "hyperShade -assign " + $materials[$i] + "; print (\"My cool second command\")"; button -label "A" -command ($command); }
Woohoo, go Libra! [ QUOTE ] (I am btw "0, resusfactor negative"... which is about the rarest and most versatible donor blood group available; it just really sucks if I will ever need any ) [/ QUOTE ] I can use your blood but you can't use mine. HAHA!
Why do you need a script for that? 1 ) Set Mental Ray as renderer 2 ) In "Environment", set background color to white, global lighting from 1 to 0. 3 ) Set material to white, put Ambient Occlusion in the Self-Illum map slot, play with settings. 4 ) Bake away.
Hrmmm well beams aren't controlled by the spawn module, unfortunately. I've never had to do this but a starting point would be to make sure your emitter loops is set to 0, and give your lifetime a uniform distribution range. Can you be more specific about your goals with this particle system?
