Is it possible to reverse engineer something like the red thing? Unstitch it and lay it out flat, photograph it build that as flat shapes, then try and warp the forms together (maybe Marvellous Designer could help there? I've tried building flat plans from 3D before for fancy dress costumes (nothing as exacting as skin…
It took me a while to figure out that there's a waterfall on the left. Its a bit too white imo. The interpenetrating slabs on the top right could and should be avoided. Also the main light seems to be front-right (front meaning in front of the camera) but there is some light that casts shadows from the left on those slabs.…
Judging is over and we're FINALLY ready to begin announcing who the winners of Polycount's BRAWL Contest are! As you may remember, the judges were sent the Top 5 FIGHTERS and Top 5 STAGES as voted on by the Polycount Community. From there, they rated the entries in 3 areas: Artistic Achievement, Technical Achievement, and…
The closest thing I've seen to this is a painter who uses white paint on white paper, in the right light you might get a hint of the brush strokes. There wasn't enough paint being used to show much texture.

Hi! By now you probably put your plan into action. When you're generally happy with the shading achieved by the modifier, you could apply it as a starting point. Personally, I define sharp edges while checking the mesh shading, placing UV seams at the same time (unwrapping in Blender). I had another look at the model, so…
What render engine are you using and with how many lights? As Zio said before, the lighting is making your render very flat. One thing it could be is the diameter of your light sources. A larger light will produce softer shadows and reflections and if it's too high it can make metal looks very flat as you can see in the…
Have you tried resetting the lights? As for the light itself if you click on display (on the 3d view window), and check 'lights' you can see the actual light source. I believe shift+right click moves the light in and out, and shift+left click rotates the light.

Hello, Going back to my Evil Genius environment, I've noticed my Light Shafts are no longer enabled. Here are some points of interest for those who think they could help me out here: * I have this feature enabled on a single direction light * I have a custom Post Processing chain * I have a custom LUA (it doesn't work on…
