You just made me slightly wet myself.... humina humina humina.... Paintovers for concepts... never really thought of that. But it certainly does give it a very realistic sense of 3d space and perspective.
thx guys! yes you right the legs are part of the design. the subject-matter of the workshop was to create a TF2 styled character with a cartoony look. Anyway I kept the character a bit more realistic.
I reckon if u changed it so he held the sword in his metal arm it would come off as more realistic that he can hold that beast :D Cool texturing as well
Alex_J is correct - what matters is how it looks in game. For a modern, 'realistic' FPS texel density ballpark/target is at least 10px/cm. Like the Pirate's code, its more of a guideline than an actual rule.
This was a 10 week project I did for Virtual Environments II at UTDallas. I modeled and textured most assets in Maya, Blender and Painter. Assets are low poly game models. The goal was to make quality reusable assets for a realistic scene. Full breakdown on ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/o28kBm

Hello, I need a realistic heightmap of a region. Now I found some tutorials doing this by using google earth. But on the other hand I read also that the data is crap. Is there a reasonable solution for this? Hope someone can help me out! Greetings Andr

That tri-fighter looks fantastic  Are you swapping style with the new models youre working on? The first few models in this thread were semi-realistic while this new one feels much more stylized.
