Hey conflig, thank you very much for taking the time to do this. I'll try moving the characters closer to see if the composition looks better, I was also thinking about continuing the path to the gate of the building and adding some candles there, but then maybe it would be too busy? Thanks again for your time!
Had a couple hours this week to work on this again. Refining shapes but trying to keep the silhouette. Pretty torn on the wires. I like the way they bring in a sense of flow to the design, leading the eye from one shape to another, but I feel it may be cumbersome. Will continue to teak and define shapes. Update soon.
Spec maps have no effect on metals. Usually a single number value is plugged in into the specular node if you want to change something (although most times it's just left alone). The opposite of metal in UE4 is the 0 value. So you use that, and continue your roughness/normal/AO workflow as usual.
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/03/31/soe-confirms-studio-closures-cancels-the-agency/#continued :( sad to hear. I hope everyone affected lands on their feet. It's funny how I feel strangely safe, 'cause one of the benefits of being jobless is no one can shitcan you. oh, wait...
Continued to tweak on the lighting a little bit. It's going in the direction I want. Here are some WIP screenshots: Here are some details: now, finally the close look of my throne: everything still need tweaking, so it will be a sleepless weekend. Wish me luck and tell whatever you think :D
~ For the record. Nobody is going to say "Oh wow. Now I see your point, I shall retract all my statements because you have proven you are correct and I am clearly wrong" OR you can continue this for another 11 pages. Whatever's good for you guys.
Hey everyone ! I continue my block out and the research for my effect. I guess I am near to what I want about the feeling. I work a lot on the way I wanted it to be stylized, but now I have to work on the colors and the timing. Any critics are welcomed as always :)
I am currently continuing to practice making fur on my other past projects, like the hamster in my profile pic that never had more than fibermesh :) Will be updating my portfolio. You know how that Stockholm syndrome works, first you hate it, then you love it, hahaha xD
Here is another small update. Continued blocking out more aspects of the environment(motor oil cans, gas pumps etc). Plenty more to do. I am taking more time on this part of the process to hopefully improve my eye on proportions so assets are more accurate. Critique away!
I don't think polycount should worry about whether their contest overlaps. Considering you never know when a gameartisans challenge will actually start, it's impossible to really plan around it. And realistically, polycount comps are better managed by a long shot, so they should continue doing what they're doing.
