Looking good man, but dont be afraid to really push the colors and tones in your paint; these look somewhat washed out and lack the contrast of the corresponding landscapes.
It looks fine where it's at imo but the forum description is pushing the pimping forums slightly back there then again, the original ubb boards had huge-ass descriptions

What stood out to me is the bags under the eyes popping with color, my immediate thought was to have the bags under the eyes blend more with the color of the skin, (not match but less contrast between the two) Other than that great work! I think your portfolio looks pretty good. It's likely your biggest problem, as you have mentioned, current location. Also, the market is flooded with character artists and the quality bar is set pretty high. My only suggestion would be to keep pushing yourself to stand out.

Still WIP. Focus is primarily to push the colour values in skin tones. Just a simple Normal/Spec/Diffuse with a ramp shader with a Scanline render. Crits n comments plz!
