if ur not gona scuplt this i suggest u to use planes to model this instead of cutting a cylinder. if i were to do it i would model out the details first and then try to connect the geometry together. OR you could use model out the details as floaters and use a deformer to match the shape of the door knob. hope this helps
I think your modeling is pretty excellent and the texture looks good too -- lighting is not helping though. Are you only using the fill light? Also, my only suggestion for the model is that the tank tread doesn't look beefy enough to carry the actual tank -- like its going to bottom out on the frame in the dirt and rocks…

Been working on this model for a while now, going to start retopologizing it so that i can texture it and have it rendered in marmoset. Heavily inspired by the work of Nivanh Chanthara. This is the biggest project I've taken on yet so let me know if you guys have any advice or tips. I can still make small changes to the…
Considering you have an unlimited poly count, you're working on what's called a "high poly." You generally won't need to apply normal maps unless you're making a game-resolution model, or for some reason you're trying to render out super-fine detail. For general modelling however you should take advantage of the smooth…
