yeah i find just the odd touch up by hand can really make the whole thing just feel that bit sharper. btu yeah a filtered sharpen tends to look pants but can sometimes be used to great effect, if you mask it out then just add it in a bit where its needed now i see it the changes have made a good bit of difference =P still…
So I figured I'd do alittle walkthru/tutorial of a painting I just finished. Hopefully it will be helpful for some fellow artists out there. So here is the finished piece and then I will go into my process. (photobucket is shrinking it and killing the quality so you may want to download the large version from my CGhub or…
Thanks for the response! In order to fix those lighting errors you are getting on the last screen you need to add a light propagation volume and in the light options select the Irradiance Volumes option. Make sure the lights are inside the light propagation volume
Looks great, dig it :) Lighting could use a few bigger light sources, such as street lights or something like that. Right now most of the lighting comes from tiny light sources which is always a big no-no when doing night scenes.
Up until going into the club the PC version looks worse, in the club and afterward the PC version looks better, unless you like darker, blurrier and harder to play? I remember when I watched the E3 trailer for the first time I had to shut my blinds and I still had trouble making out details. I remember thinking well its a…
What I am trying to do is have a floor that looks as if it has holes in it and have it seems like light is coming from underneath it. I also want to have this light fading in and out. I am interested in the hand painted process when it comes to shadows and having a directional light in your scene. Im having an interesting discussion at work regarding painting in shadows on a model and it conflicting with the directional light. So how does diablo 3 handle how the lighting in their textures, is it a basic…
Thanks. I'm using static lighting on my directional light with high indirect lighting intensity. I think screen space gi is only for movable light. I'm not aware of any other method for light bounce ? Maybe my world settings are too low ?
Hey Anarcy! For someone starting out, this is looking pretty good - Bounds above where I was when I started. Just a couple suggestions to help push things further: I like the idea that you're trying to get across in this first environment, though I feel there's a few things you could do to make it feel more alive. A good…
From what I know, being aware I might be wrong with those definitions: Diffuse: color map, often mixed with ambient occlusion and some pre-baked or painted light. Albedo (in some cases still called diffuse): color map; contains information about color only, no lighting or ambient baked into it. Specular in old gen workflow…
