I personally enjoy cutscenes when they are done appropriately. But if a game, no matter how good, has unskippable cutscenes and/or unskippable tutorials, I likely wont buy it, as it makes me perceive the devs (or whoever in particular made the decision of making these events unskippable) as arrogant and not deserving… -

Mother is actually not that great a game. I've actually played through it several times and has major design issues. It is super grindy, direction of where to go next is vague, it is easy to skip very important things to beat the game. The in game map is terrible and confusing.
