When I first got a hold of an AK 47 and the sun glinted off of it, my first thought was "Man these weapons look really good. I wonder who made them." Well now I know. :) I would really like to see some textures flats of one of them if it's not too much trouble.

Jonathan Flectcher does a pretty dam nice tutorial of hand painted textures in the "Vertex" mag. http://www.artbypapercut.com/ starts on page 47 and is fucking great. also i have seen the content but i do believe 3d motive had a tut for hand painted weapon textures.

Why do AAA titles often aim for ''realistic'' visuals (with uncanny animation)? Marketing has found that teenage boys and young adult men, the prime audience for AAA FPS/Driving/RPG want realism in their games. They want their Honda Civic and AK-47 to look like the real thing.
