I cant really draw anything amazing, i know the basics of perspective and all that but have a hard time doodling anything amazing looking, super out of practice. I don't find it really effects my 3d work at all, most of the environments I have ever made were either based off a concept painted by a wicked 2d artist, or tons…
tex_cookiedough: I've been using Mudbox and Modo for somewhere around five years now on a hobbyist basis. Neox: I agree about the legs and it's on my to do list, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get to it right now. Bl4ckie: Yeah, I used the Source SDK model viewer for these screenshots. It's a lot easier to get…
What you're calling an "open edge", we call in my office a "T-Junction". Open edges (corners that aren't welded) are fine, so long as the edges all come back to vertices that have the same location. T-Junctions (a corner on one side of a face, that rests in the middle of another face) IS bad, however. The main reason for…
well Nell is a Naga, snake people that i based off of some renditions in modern pop culture. these are always shown as bad guys because they are snakes. aka bad because of how they look (surface only). i have taken that stereotype and thrown it right out the window from the top of a skyscraper and chucked a few bricks…
- in the first image my eye is drawn to the chimney because it’s the most colorful and saturated thing in the scene, and everything else is flat and mute. The lighting is flat and it’s all in a neutral tonal range, nothing stands out as a focal point or point of interest. - the car angle is too straight on, and creates…
Is your moss on a seperate layer? If so save a version with the moss and version without the moss. Then you'll be able to do what you tried above ^^ without the moss repeating. You'll just have to cut the mesh accordingly.
Hi guys! Is there any way to move max 17 customizations to 18. I am able to all my shortcuts and menu but can't find any option to move all my scripts and preferences in 1 shot. Thank you
@gametime @chrisevansart Thank you guys!! Progress - moving my way through the environment assets and materials. I felt like there was too much of the same brick texture going on so I created a cinder block texture to help break up the buildings. Pretty happy with it so far and I'll be able to push my wall textures further…
i would agree that your buildings need decals and blends so there isn't a consistent brick colour throughout the whole building. I know you are following a concept, so what I'm about to recommend is entirely up to you. This looks like a ghetto type of ally you're going for, so I think adding some spray paints decals and…
I've been looking for a way to extract models from Allods too- so far the best I've been able to do is use Machinima Studio to export them as obj and reimport them to my 3d app of choice (happens to be Blender). It works, but all of the model's LODs are merged together and there's no way of separating them other than going…
