A couple of things that are really throwing me for a loop. His philtrum ridge is a bit too thick on either side and is creating an odd highlight. I could be wrong, but it appears that your outer eye isn't far enough back, without a solid side view it is hard to tell. Also, his eyebrows are way too straight and way too far…
The things that really stick out to me looking through your portfolio are: * What role do you want in industry once you graduate? It needs to be super clear and I couldn't find the kind of artist/role you want to sell yourself as in words, even on your resume. * Whatever that role is, focus that! I'm getting mainly a…
We have some pretty sweet christmas parties at our company, my first one was at a nice old mansion with some pretty sweet catering and open bar. Apparently the years before was a booze cruise but I missed those doh! Also the company does pizza/cake for things like 10 years at the company, gold watch at 25 etc. Secret…
Regarding "whats so special about star citizen" line of thought... It's one of those projects that kind of defines crowd funding success. It represents a true departure from being disposable gunk at the bottom of the big publisher's shoe. It also redefined how community involvement and interaction can work with a game…
The game isn't sluggish... it's slow. There's a huge difference. Once you play some more and get the timing down you'll see how responsive the game is. The game is really good at detecting your inputs. The input windows are different, I think, for both normal and special moves. You'll notice this when you do the training…
Hey guys, hope I can post this here as I'm using UT3 (and didn't want to necro the old thread) and I'm assuming/hoping the solution is the same for UDK. I did browse the threads and search the UDN before posting here. Basically I've created a vehicle and its got several Mat Ids, I'm getting it all sorted fine but I'm…
Have you considered a Mac or are you wanting a PC? I bought a 13" Macbook Pro last year after having one of the older 15" Pro's, and it's been absolutely awesome. Build quality and design is incredible and obviously the Mac OS is rock solid. Let me just say I'm not a full on Mac fanboy, I use a PC for work and like them…
I have never seen procedural textures look good unless someone spent a hell of a lot of time setting up some kinds of area-specific mask to blend them properly. Environment art isn't easy. The task of modeling is getting a lot more difficult with current platforms. What's worse, you can't always just do a quicky Z-Brush…
Just ordered Bridgman...let the studies begin! UPDATE: Some of my old stuff. Picked my absolute worst stuff to see some development. Just a selection of it. Such a shame I lost those old pics, would have liked to see what everyones feedback related to.
Looks awesome. I'm sitting in an old hotel lobby right now and noticing on even the old wood the specular has some slight "waviness" to it reflecting the environment. Perhaps what I'm talking about has less to do with specular but more like a subtle cubemap at a low percent.
