The low poly needs UVs, the high poly doesn't if you're using polypaint. You'll need to turn off the "ignore per-vertex colours" option in XNormal if you are using polypaint though.

I got a school assignment this week where I was supposed to combine 2 or three animals, make a zbrush sculpt and then polypaint it. It was loads of fun! I am not so happy with the polypainted version, but it had to be done.
rollin,I find polypaint very handy for making a base colour for my overlays. I start my textures with the polypaint base, then overlay my default photo texture head at about 50 percent.
Hey guys, this weird thing happened, not sure how. It only shows when I turn on colorize under Polypaint. Did I bake polypaint by accident or something? Any idea what's going on and how to get rid of it?
@teodar23 haha yes could be. This is actually a redesign of Doomsday by Jong Min Lee. An other update. I started the micro details on the body, and some polypainting to try to get the real feel of the sculpt. Still need to improve the sculpt and polypaint.
great stuff u've got there. i was wondering if u mind sharing more of the stuff u learned about polypainting. i'm starting out in polypainting. Any tips that would help a beginner avoid wasting time. thks in advance.
adding polypaint + pairing it with a bit depth for the wrinkles, so it works well with normal map I will do the best I can in polypaint, but want to do the real cleanup and details after it's projected on the low poly mesh.
Did more work on the body, I have redesigned some elements of the vest, the hood into its own thing with a proper gambeson on top of that. Polypainted preview Will color match the face and arm later, since the arm just has a flat polypaint on it.
