Hey Wungun, here's a little help with posting that image error you're having... I can only get images to post in this forum by sharing them on twitter first; e.g. for this one, I tweeted from @ThePoetTrees @Reallusion Just FYI: Error Msg on Polycount 4 #Contest - See Wungun's Thread and Sticky re Posting Pics Will also…
Tangent Space maps are mostly bluish-purple. Object Space maps (also called world space, same thing basically) are rainbow colored. Yeah, it's an option in Transfer Maps. http://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/maya2012/en_us/index.html?url=files/Lightingshading__Transfer_Maps.htm,topicNumber=d28e525558 Also, it helps to…
i agree with fonfa. The rust/corrosion spots on the blade contrast a lot more with the metal in the ref image than they do in your renders. I'd add some slight spec variation on the handle as well, in the ref image it appears to be slightly roughed-up. Edit: I'm retarded, didnt realize right away the ref image wasn't…
JakeLeeCooper - Once you have the images uploaded to imgur, copy the direct link for them and then use the "Insert Image" button to have the images show up in your post. I went ahead and fixed your last post. As for the scene, it's a good start, but the lighting still has a long way to go. At the moment it's too dark…
Wireframe please? One way to handle stuff like this is to make the straps a part of the underlying surface, make them contiguous where the strap meets the skin (or shirt). Then you only have to deal with the regular stretching issues you always get with shoulders. No splitting or clipping. Also, it's better to embed art…
The wireframes are not very readable. I think you should resize them to fit the area they will be loaded into and then load them, because flash doesn't do any kind of aliasing on an image when it is scaling it down. Also, it would be nice to have a whole enlarged image be a back button, instead of having to go and click on…
Thanks a lot guys. Working on those projects was a lot of fun, especially UT3. I would like to post some wires and textures sheets as well but I need to have everything approved first. This was the first batch of images so I hope to post more soon. diminished_Self: hey man, thanks. how are things going with you? Here…
It looks great on first load... as I scroll down though I see a couple missing images. The spacing varies between images and titles a lot. Be consistent. The same can be said for the renderings. If you find the time to go back and re-layout all these your site will benefit greatly. Use the same text on each image. A few of…
It helps to prevent lighting artifacts from occurring at seams. In particular this happens with mip-maps and even manual resizing of an image from the down sampling. Padding stretches the edges of your normal map outwards so when the image is down sampled it doesn't draw on 'empty' pixels which can cause lighting…
since i've never used the vision engine, i cannot see any hard shadows in the pictures compared to the image that the engine website shows. See how in the image above they use different lights to create atmosphere, I think tweaking the lights would help the scene a lot. for example in there's a window in image…
