You heard wrong imo. Blender doesn't even have a proper relax function for UVs. It has some useful unwrapping tools, especially if you like unwrapping things in straight lines, but it could be a lot better.
Thanks guys :) Currently the chainmail can only be deformed in size but i plan on adding more functionality so it will deform more naturally later :) I have a few plans for this baby so stay tuned :P
Not that I know of. It seems like a huge oversite that they would just keep this new way of selecting edges in the pelt mapping function only. Maybe with the service pack or version 9 they'll break it out to the rest of the program.
Yeah. Looks neat, but I'm still skeptical this will live up to the "OMG Zeebrush changez teh Wurld!" hype they seem intent on creating. I would prefer a straightforward demonstration of new functionality and less marketing obfuscation.
You can also use the tremendous plug in called Textools (for 3dmax) and the function "explode by smoothing group". That will separate uvs shell every hard edge. This script is smart and clever. Thanks to "RenderHjs". http://www.renderhjs.net/textools/
Not sure if this will help or hinder, but... you might be able to get some code from Skin Or Die, which has a bone-adding function. Andre just updated the script and got it back online. http://www.scriptspot.com/andrehotz/
ahah this game is gonna sell like crazy! didnt you see the that magic stick of plastic love you can order to go with it? "The Virtual Sex Machine has three different functions Vibrate, Suck, and Stroke."
Modo has a "repeat selection" function, so you select 1 vert, then select the 2nd, and just hold down the left arrow key and it will continue that selection. Then go up to the next row of verts and do the same.
Hi! Maybe also try the forums search function. Texel density is a common topic and you might find information that's useful for your case. (https://polycount.com/search?adv=1&search=Texel+density&title=&author=&cat=all&subcats=1&tags=&discussion_discussion=1&within=6+months&date=Today+) Good luck!
Couldn't find the old 3d thread with the search function, thus started this thread. So far I figure that the paint could use a little variation to break up the noise. Once the challenge is over I'll revisit it some more. (Images are screen grabs)
